This flag is one of the best that I've ever created. It's beauty comes from it's simplicity and because it's original. I worked at an old cotton mill in Georgia as a teenager and this wood is from that mill. The mill is long gone, a fire destroyed it years ago but I got my hands on some of the remaining lumber and immediately built this beautiful piece. It is truly unique and one of a kind. I added the stars but the rest of the flags representaion comes from its own color and texture. The original saw mill marks and wood grain give the imaginary red stripes a colorful apperance and the white stripes are the actual paint stripes applied years ago. Both come together thanks to weather, years of traffic and use and oxidation to make a perfect flag. I left the original bolt holes and nail gouges as I believe that they only add to this beauty. The back remains raw and uncovered. This is truly a one-of-a-find piece of historical art. I hope that it becomes a true family heirloom for you!
